Geomagic Qualify Features
Point Cloud and Polygon Processing
- Reduce scanner errors with point cloud noise reduction and the ability to fill holes.
- Apply an offset to point data that contains normal information to compensate for material thickness (when one side is scanned and the other is the CAD reference).
- Create a new "gold master" reference model (when a CAD model is not available) by combining and averaging several scanned models.
Alignment
- Prioritize alignment of the reference model with the point cloud using datums or features.
- Align models using datums, features, RPS (Reference Point System), or best fit methods.
- Save, load and apply alignment methods for automated and repeatable inspection.
Datum Creation
- User-definable plane, axis, point datums and line target datums on the reference model.
- Automatically generate datums from the reference model on the point cloud.
- Modify scale, rotation, translation and appearance of datums.
3D Comparison
- Generate color-mapped models to illustrate deviations.
- Define and modify the color spectrum including segmented color spectrums.
- Provide go/no go graphical definitions for easy to read evaluation of deviation.
Dimensioning and Analysis
- Create 2D dimensions on user-defined cross sections of the model.
- Create 3D dimensions of models utilizing selected regions of the model.
- Generate deviation whisker plots of cross sections of the model.
- Compare boundary edges to determine springback and cutting error.
Feature Evaluation
- Automatically create features on test point clouds from the entities on the reference model.
- Automatically detect and create 2D features, such as holes and slots.
- Compare holes, slots, rectangles, and rounded (filleted) rectangles.
Annotations and Locations
- Automatically generate location sets from user-defined grid patterns to measure deviations in critical areas.
- Create and modify dynamic annotations to define deviations and highlight locations on inspected models.
- Create text annotations to place notes and comments for inclusion in reports.
- Automatically annotate features for easy comparison and analysis.
GD&T
- Create and edit GD&T callouts on features in a model and control how it is displayed in a report.
- Evaluate callouts on the Test Data and create views, annotations and tables of the results.
- View results as a pass/fail display or detailed color map showing different levels of variance.
- Automatically record all GD&T data, including 3D graphical views, tables and pass/fail information.
Blade Analysis
- Perform turbine blade alignment using line datum targets that simulate edge-to-pin contact.
- Analyze properties of blade cross sections including mean (camber) line, max width, leading edge and trailing edge radius, thickness at offsets from the blade ends, and chord lengths (axial, max and parallel).
- Perform 2D twist analysis by aligning the cross section of the model with the reference data with user-defined maximum rotation and twist tolerance constraints.
- Analyze and report dimensions related to turbine segments such as minimum opening (throat) and minimum distance between blade to blade.
- Analyze complicated geometry found inside the blade (for cooling or flow purposes) by creating custom features .
Gap & Flush
- Automatically calculate the gap & flush that separates two geometries.
- Calculate edge deviation along the metal and normal to the metal.
- Calculate the gap & flush between a physical part and a virtual hard gauge.
- Visualize calculations through a quantitative analysis (Ribbon & whiskers) and qualitative analysis (annotations, tables and 2D cross -sections).
Report Generation
- Automatically generate inspection reports in several formats including HTML, PDF, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Output report contents as XML elements for further processing by an external report engine.
- Export CSV (comma-separated values) and Unicode compatible data for a variety of end applications.
Automation
- Automate the inspection process from point cloud alignment to the generation of inspection reports.
- Record steps in the inspection process to inspect multiple parts automatically.
- Define macros for automating repetitive tasks.
User Interface
- Easy to use visualization tools such as the user-defined background grid that enables the user to have an approximate sense of true position.
- Customizable toolbars, right-mouse menu, hotkeys, and color themes.
- Dockable toolbars and panels to organize desktop workspace.
- Easy to use context-sensitive help system.
Developer Tools
-
COM interface provides scripting access via Visual Basic, C, C++, or Java.
- Use the Geomagic plug-in API for full integration with your design process.
